It can be very difficult to adjust to life in a new country, especially when somebody doesn't know the language. Teaching English provides new ministry opportunities for churches to reach internationals in their communities with the Gospel by meeting a very real need.
The English as a Second Language (ESL) Basic Workshop will train you to establish your own ESL program at your church. Some of the topics covered in the workshop include:
- Methods of Teaching English
- Organizing an ESL Ministry
- Understanding Other Cultures
- Incorporating Biblical Materials into Lessons
- Sharing Your Faith
The workshop will be split between training and practical exercises over two days. The dates and times for the workshop are:
Friday, September 14, 6 pm – 9 pm and Saturday, September 15, 9 am – 6 pm. It will be held at the PSBA Offices in Federal Way.
If you are interested in taking part in the upcoming training, please register below. There is a $30 fee which covers the cost of the required ESL manual and breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
The deadline to register is Friday, September 7th.
